Since the first store opened 55 years ago, Target has been a growing corporation.
With groceries, apparel, technology, décor, dollar sections and donations to the community, it is hard for many to not love Target.
Caleb Moushon, a sophomore marketing major, said Target is a quality store that has a wide selection.
“They have it all, and I don’t really ever need most of it, but everything seems to make it into my cart,” Moushon said.
Moushon said Target is nicely organized and such a clean place for shopping. He said that people he knows think of Target as being overpriced. Moushon said he always responds to those people by explaining that the experience of Target is just so much better than any other retailer.
He said the brands offered at Target are great quality. Moushon said the store has made improvements on their look and what they sell, which shows they are a brand that is constantly growing.
Georgia Stevens, a junior nursing major, said Target brings her so much happiness, but that she always ends up leaving with things she does not need.
“I love it because it literally has everything you need to shop for in one place,” Stevens said.
Stevens said she usually goes to Target for home decorations, storage and furniture. She said that she buys their build-it-yourself furniture because it makes her feel like an adult when she successfully builds the product.
She said the holiday options that Target offers are amazing. Stevens said she goes to Target an excessive amount of times during the holiday season to get gifts and products to donate, but that she always leaves with something for herself too.
Stevens said another things that puts Target above other grocery stores is that there is a Starbucks inside most of them. She said that once she gets a Starbucks drink that it is hard to not spend hours inside browsing the aisles and enjoying her drink.
Aria Spence, a junior advertising major, said Target is a high-quality grocery store that meets people’s needs of all ages.
“They have done a good job at showing they are not just a grocery store,” Spence said.
She said the Target style for clothing and décor is very similar to hers. Spence said all the furniture in her room is from Target because she knows it is good quality.
The Target website states that the “Fixer Upper” television stars, Chip and Joanna Gaines, teamed up with Target to design a home decoration brand, Hearth & Hand with Magnolia.
Spence said people will attract to the new brand because a lot of people love the show. She said Target does a good job at being well rounded and keeping up with what people like.
Spence said that she understands that times are changing, but that Target’s bathroom policy is the one thing she does not absolutely love about Target.
When Target decided to allow their transgender employees and guests to use the restroom that corresponds with their gender equality, some people went against Target and their decision.
The Target website explained that they stand for equality and are proud supporters of the federal Equality Act, which provides protections to the LGBT individuals and opposes actions that enables discrimination.
“Everyone deserves to feel like they belong. And you’ll always be accepted, respected and welcomed at Target,” their website states.
Stevens said that although she does not agree with the transgender bathrooms decision, that it will not stop her from shopping at Target.
Spence, Moushon and Stevens said they plan on being loyal Target costumers by spending a lot more money at Target for the rest of their lives.
